Description
A group of six undated archaistic cylinder seals in 3rd-2nd millennium BC style consisting of: carnelian seal with lion attacking a grazing goat, inscription to the top; a white agate seal with two figures holding staffs and wearing long robes stood either side of the Tree of Life with the winged sun disc above; a haematite seal with seated figure wearing crown and holding staff, sun symbol in front; figure advancing wearing long robes and presenting a human head, behind three smaller figures in the act of worship; series of dots and plant motif with three rows of human and animal heads; a stone seal with suspension loop above engraved with geometric motifs, sun symbol, snake, bird and seated figure; underside with scorpion; a bronze seal with worshipper in long robes and headdress approaching two deities, bands of cuneiform between; a haematite seal with two worshippers approaching deities, bands of cuneiform between, underside with face of Humbaba. 99 grams total, 22-42mm (3/4 - 1 3/4").
