Description
A Late 19th Century French Mantle Clock by Phillipe Mourey, French, 1840-1910. Eight-day time and strike movement is contained within a Gilt metal case that is surmounted by two putti holding a mirror, with scrolling acanthus leaf accents. The hand painted and enameled porcelain dial coordinates with the three hand painted miniature plaques along the base, consisting of portrait of a woman that is flanked by a cherub at either side. Stamped "Ph. Mourey" on the base. Wear to the gilding, lacking a dial cover, an accent piece of porcelain and one plaque are cracked. 13 1/4 x 13" high. ESTIMATE $200-400
