Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A relatively flat figure with tubular limbs made from long coils, sitting with legs out in front, heels almost touching, and hands placed upon knees, nude except for a 'horned' headdress and conical elements adorning each shoulder, with a visage comprised of coffee bean shaped eyes, a protruding pointy nose, and coffee-bean shaped mouth, all in a redware finish. Size: 4" L x 3.5" W x 4.875" H (10.2 cm x 8.9 cm x 12.4 cm)
Provenance: Ex - private LA County collection acquired before 1990
