A 3-1/2 inch presentation SHIP'S WHEEL CLOCK by Chelsea Clock Co., Boston; circa 1953 signed below the center and marked "Ship's Bell," the "Mariner," with a slivered face, blackened Arabic numerals, simple hands, double barrel key winds for the movement and the strike, slow fast adjuster, within a brass casement with hinged front, and a ten-spoke ship's wheel mounted on the outside. Inscribed on the base: Presented to/ Captain Everett O. Swinson/ Assistant Port Captain Balboa Canal Zone/ June 1 1946 to April 30 1953/ Pilot The Panama Canal/ March 8 1927 to May 31 1946/ By The Panama Canal Pilots/ Balboa, Canal Zone. Displayed on a bronze pedestal on a mahogany base.
