dating: mid-19th Century
provenance: Russia
Round, rifled, 17 mm cal. barrel provided with adjustable rear-sight and clutch for the bayonet; hollow nozzle. Backwards spring lock signed "P. J. MALERBE A LIEGE", outlined border. Wooden full stock with brass mounts, an oval plaque at the back with the monogram of the Tsar "N I" under crown. Complete with brass-tipped, iron ramrod. A very scarce variation with no patchbox.
