Description
A large blown green glass Demijohn in a wicker basket. Still retains the original tag from Karl C. Kulle, manufacturers of Quality Cigars, Suffield, Connecticut c. 1880. The cigar industry began in Suffield before extensive tobacco growing. Soon after the peace of 1783 cigars began to be imported from the West Indies. Suffield was probably the first town in New England to make cigars. There is a hairline to one side of the bottle but it sill shows well. Measures 14x14x18. Wt 6 pds 2 oz
