Superb French Renaissance Style Chateau Birdcage. Custom executed for William Gaylord by Eric Landsdown. Inspired by the Chateau of Chenonceau in the Loire Valley, Eric Landsdown of San Francisco designed this birdcage for the reception hall of the Sherman House in San Francisco. It stood in the hall for decades greeting visitors with the sound of chirping finches. It has been featured in several magazines including Architectural Digest, Country Inns, Custom Woodworking, and also seen in advertisements for Gump’s, San Francisco. Circa 1980. Dimensions 90 x 68 1/2 x 22 1/2 inches (228.6 x 174 x 57.2 cm). Provenance: The Manou Mobedshahi Collection.
