Description
An early 20th century 18ct gold diamond ring and a 9ct gold emerald and diamond ring. The first designed as three old-cut diamonds inset to a tapered band, the second designed as a marquise-shape emerald and single-cut diamond alternating line. Estimated total diamond weight 0.60ct. One with hallmarks for 9ct gold. Total weight 9.6gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Some diamonds loose in some settings. One emerald loose from its setting. Diamonds fairly well matched to each ring. Diamonds bright. Old-cut diamonds show only very small inclusions to the centre diamond and some slightly more obvious inclusions to the smaller diamonds. Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Stones in mostly fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. One old-cut diamond heavily chipped with a significant portion deficient. One old-cut diamond with a fairly obvious chip to one corner. One old-cut diamond cracked. Please see the Important Notices for Purchasers for coloured gemstones. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
