Description
The first tool is a yellow and purple jasper example. Inscribed in ink: "Fontmaure Ach. French?15.03.189(6)?". The other scraper is flint in shades of brown and cream with some remaining skin on surface. This example has a small brown tag, inscribed: "F580." Fontmaure, located in central France, is one of the most famous prehistoric sights in the world. It was inhabited mainly between 30,000 and 40,000 years ago by Neanderthals. Uniquely, the tools from this site are made of jasper and are renowned for their beauty. The site is now closed.
