Description
French, mid 20th century. Pair of Louis XVI-style gilt bronze wall sconces, each in the form of a tapered and fluted wall pocket hanging on a ribbon, with pink, yellow, and purple painted porcelain roses mounted on gilt bronze stems, with two curving arms with frosted molded glass rose shades. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 17.125", width 17", depth 6.25".
Condition
Typical surface wear. Some losses to flowers, and some repairs. All four shades are not identical, and are two different pairs. All with some minor chipping to backs, and one with a lost petal and one with crack. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
