Description
Meissen (German, founded 1710- ), late 19th century. A fine pair of Meissen porcelain etagere or display shelves, each with ebonized wood two tier frames supported by decorated floral encrusted pillars, surmounted by figural putti or cherubs, one pillar on each shelf with a floral finial. Both with beveled mirrored backs. Approximate height for both 12", width 14", depth 5.75".
Condition
One shelf with split in second tier of shelf; seated putto at top with minor chips to finger tips; standing putto with loss of arm; under second tier column there is loss of wood; minor chips to flowers not distracting. Lacking one hook in the back for mounting to wall. Second shelf top putto with loss of arm and repairs with touch ups. Bottom central pillar with repair to flowers. Minor chips to flowers not distracting. One hook to the back is not original.
