Description
Theodoros Stamos (American, 1922-1997), "Spartan Sun Box #1", serigraph in colors, graphite signed at lower left "Stamos", edition noted at lower right "54/75". Color Field print with mauve ground and pink rectangle at lower right. Framed approximately 26.25" x 28.25". Sight approximately 23.75" x 25.75". Note: Stamos is noted for his early adoption of Color Field abstraction and biomorphic shapes. Stamos was heavily influenced by the work of Mark Rothko (Latvian (active America), 1903-1970).
Condition
Even toning throughout, not distracting. All corners with minor surface abrasions. Left edge with minor surface abrasions.
