Description
20th century. A charming pair of figural paperweights (also called mascots, or hood ornaments) after the original produced by the famed crystal maker Lalique (French, founded 1888), "Coq Nain", each depicting a rooster with elegant plumage, one of cobalt coloring, one of opalescent coloring, the cobalt with mark to side of base "R. Lalique France", the opalescent with mark to underside "R.Lalique France". Cobalt Coq Nain approximate height 8.25". Opalescent Coq Nain approximate height 8".
Condition
Each in overall good condition. Each with minor wear to undersides commensurate with shelf use. No losses or repairs detected.
Blue: Minor dirt and grime throughout; would benefit from light cleaning.
Opalescent: Bubbling throughout; original to piece.
