Sterling Silver Large Covered Soup Tureen, #4627-3351, circa 1880s, with intricate floral and foliate repousse decoration, rooster heads at edges of both handles, and rolled feet, engraved "Cook" on base, marked "Tiffany & Co., Makers, Sterling Silver, 925-1000, M", approx. 9" high, 15 7/8" x 8 3/4", 100.23 ozt. Good condition. Descended in the family of Henry H. Cook (New York banker) to his granddaughter, Mabel Evans Dodge Sterne Luhan (1879-1962), wealthy patron of the Arts and nationally syndicated columnist for the Hearst organization, and finally to her grandchildren.
