Antique highly detailed high kpsi fine with bird motif Persian Kashan rug circa 1930's. Truly beautiful bird motif design over royal blue background. Breathtaking colors including blues, reds, olive, ivory, beige, greens, gold, etc.
Kashan rugs are woven in workshops of the city of Kashan, in north central Iran. The entire rug including the medallion itself, the corners (in the case of medallion-and-corner), the borders, and the field are filled with Shah Abbasi and Islami motifs. It is common for this traditional design to have a navy medallion with similar corners and border in a red background or vise versa. The asymmetric (Persian) knot is used in Kashan rugs woven in Kashan.
