A late Victorian 18ct gold snake ring. The coiled serpent, with crossover head and tail, oval-shape sapphire and old-cut diamond crest and diamond eyes. Estimated total diamond weight 0.10ct. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1900. Ring size U 1/2. Weight 7.8gms.
  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Some possible replacement gems.
  • Mount with small gaps to sapphire, sapphire pavillion reaches past the bottom of the ring.
  • Diamonds well matched.
  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Sapphire is a deep medium blue hue, fairly well saturated, with fair to good clarity and typical inclusions.

  • Stones in good condition with moderate facet-edge abrasions.
