Ancient Near East, Luristan, ca. 1000 BCE. This is a pair of bronze bowls from the bronze-casting powerhouse of the ancient Near East. Luristan bronzes far outstripped those of their contemporaries in skill and beauty; these twin bowls are thin and perfectly rounded. They were most likely created to be placed in tombs to hold libations. Size: 6.4" W x 1.75" H (16.3 cm x 4.4 cm)
