Description
10th century AD. A gold pendant formed as a piriform plaque with beaded detailing to both faces, granulation to the rim, integral loop with knop above; to one face an inset spinel cabochon and a similar emerald(?) to the reverse; five loops to the lower edge each with two wire dangles, pearl and green glass(?) beads. 3.87 grams, 31mm (1 1/4") From a West Sussex collection formed before 1980.
