21st Dynasty, Third Intermediate Period, 1077-943 BC. A glazed composition shabti with eyes and eyebrows painted in black pigment, wearing a tripartite wig with painted band around the brow and tied in a bow at the back; arms crossed at the chest and holding two hoes, seed basket at the back, mummiform body with row of hieroglyphs down the front; for the priest Amun-a-Nesu, True of Voice. 142 grams, 11.5 cm (4 1/2") Property of a German gentleman; acquired before 1989.
