Ancient Near East, Canaan, ca. 13th century BCE. This is a small bronze statuette showing the god Baal as an elongated, thin body with encircling arms and a head with conical crown above a clearly human face. Baal is the chief deity of Canaanite religion, a storm god associated with the fertility of the land, often depicted in an abstract but recognizably human way. Comes with custom stand. Size: 0.8" W x 2.9" H (2 cm x 7.4 cm)
