Description
A beautiful vibrant blue ushabti for the religious official Tjai-nefer, 3rd Intermediate Period, 21st Dynasty, c. 1080 - 945 BC, mummiform, wearing striated tripartite wig with seshed headband, arms crossed over chest, each hand holding a hoe, basket on back. Down the front of the legs is a vertical column of text reading 'the illuminated one, the Osiris, the 'Third Prophet of Amen,' Tjai-nefer'. A lovely example with the black details contrasting nicely with the brilliant blue. H: 3 1/2 in (8.9cm). For other examples of ushabtis for Tjai-nefer cf.
