Apparently the first edition of this popular compilation of voyages, by the great French novelist. Warren Heckrotte comments "The first chapter is on cartographers of the 18th century. Chapters 3, 4, 5 of part I are on Cook's three voyages. Chapter 1 of Part II is on French navigators - La Perouse, etc."

Condition

Just a touch of rubbing to spine ends and corners; front hinge a little tender; near fine.
