Accompaniment to Melish's landmark map.Nearly all of the maps are of cities and adjacent lands, including the District of Columbia, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Charleston, St. Louis, New Orleans, etc. There is also a folding map of the National Road between Cumberland and Wheeling, and a map of the outlet of the Columbia River. There are two map listed that are not present, the Isthmus of Darien and the Isthmus of Suez, but these were not issued, as noted in Howes M490.

Condition

Boards rubbed, with some refurbishing; some toning and foxing to contents, folding map ill-creased; very good.
