Description
Europe, Spain, Andalusia, Granada, ca. mid-19th century CE. An attractive mid-19th century example of a blue on white "Granadino" pottery pitcher created in the city and capital of the province of Granada, in Andalusia, Spain. This basin is decorated with a gorgeous design comprised of a large flower with leafy tendrils adorning the body with a meandering, sinuous line underscored by a double line adorning the register above just below the gracefully flared rim, all in deep cobalt over a cream hued glaze. A wonderful example of traditional Granada pottery. Size: 6.75" W x 7.875" H (17.1 cm x 20 cm)
