French Ormolu And Blue Sevres Porcelain Clock c1880 : An antique French ormolu, gilded bronze, mantel clock with a profusion of sky blue porcelain inset panels , hand painted gilt and semi-precious cabachons in the Sevres manner, circa 1880. The 8 day Japy Freres movement striking on a bell every half hour (signed) stamped 'HP & Co ' , the case is surmounted by gilded artichoke finials with a central porcelain mount with elegant painted flower arrangements. The front panel is decorated with a female figure reading and a small child and the bow side panels with country scenes and a lake / river. The blue & white enamel dial has Roman numerals within squares , gilt hand painted decoration and with some semi- precious stones with a cupid painted to middle and a lute .The clock stands on 6 feet on a gilded wooden shaped base with an egg and dart moulding to front. The whole 10 7/8'' wide and 15'' high
