Description
The deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to a lipped rim, covered overall in a black glaze falling short of the foot to reveal the purple-brown body, the interior with 'hare's fur' streaks. The formation of patterns on Jian ware bowls came from oxides of iron that form in firing and to the type of crystals that develop as the glaze cools.
