Description
Very fine Chinese Ming dynasty gilt bronze Bodhisattvas figure of Avalokiteshvara.
Ming Dynasty, XuanDe Reign Period, and of the period (AD 1426 - 1436)
As the nature of all Buddha, Bodhisattva figure of seated Avalokiteshvara, with resplendent, serene face, beneath the ornate headdress before the ushnisha. Clad in diaphanous-sanghati, with ornate jewelries and pendants over the chest. Both hands in bumipharsa-mudra. Two beautiful feet seated in vajra posture upon double lotus crown pedestal. The billowing scarf is draped over the figure body, wraps around both shoulders, entwined on both arms, and downward to the pedestal.
Extensive trace of gilt, with hints of blue pigment on hair.
The underside with incised Quadre-foil flori-form petals visvavajra mark surrounded the centralized DaiJi.
Mark on throne, six engraved script -KaiShu- character, XuanDe Reign Period of Great Ming.

Condition
Excellent condition, with normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dent. Surface traced wear to gilding. Normal, considering ages and wears.
