An Empire-Style Gilt Bronze-Dore Mounted and Flame Figured Mahogany Bureau a Cylindre. France, late 19th century. The upper rectangular structure fitted with three short drawers with applied gilt palmettes, the cylinder featuring applied gilt mask of Apollo opening to reveal a pullout black leather writing surface and fitted with an arrangement of a long filing niche over three short drawers, the lower desk fitted to each side with a pullout leather writing surface and five frieze drawers, supported by square tapering legs with bronze mounts and end caps.
