Description
10 Matching Older Wedgwood Drabware Dinner Plates. Each measuring 10.75x10.75. The distinctive olive-colored glazed earthenware called Drabware is a favorite with Martha Stewart and many other Designers. Most colored dishware starts out as white earthenware or porcelain and is then tinted with glaze, but Drabware is made with dark clay, resulting in its deep, rich color. First produced in 1811, Drabware has become a popular collector's item in recent years. It wasn't until 1970, at Tiffany & Co.s request, that Wedgwood chose to revive the pattern for the American market. Its chino color and classic shapes are anything but drab and blend successfully with almost any furniture and background, formal or informal. Wt on all 14 pds. PROVENANCE: The Estate of a Litchfield Connecticut Antique & Art Dealer.
