Description
A fine example of Tell el-Yahudiyeh ware, ca. 1500 - 1200 BC, from the Levant or northern Egyptian Delta. This lovely amphora is 7-3/4 in high, 4-1/2 in in diameter and is decorated with the characteristic linear and puncture décor surrounding the base, equator and neck of the vessel. Good mineral encrustation. Comes with ring base. Ex Cohen Trust. Cf. Amiran, Pottery of Ancient Israel.
