Description
Chinese, likely late 19th/ early 20th century Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). A tall porcelain ginger jar decorated with hand painted famille rose palette and comprising a white ground with raised cockerels, ribbon tied scrolls, flowering vases or urns, prunus fruit, and two tables bearing further flowering urns, with fitted wood lid to top bearing teardrop finial. Unmarked. Approximate height 14", diameter 8.5".
Condition
Lacquer top with paint loss. Scattered overall losses to enamel, with several areas of paint splatter and inpainting. Red rim appears to have run. Some fleabites and accretions, with typical shelf wear to base. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
