Description
ADM for Tane Orfebres (Mexican, founded early 1950s), circa 1953-1980. A sterling silver lidded box of flower blossom form with scalloped round body bearing twisted stem form loop handles to either side with flush leaf patterning to each side, the lift off lid of overhanging conforming form with elongated egg and dart chasing to domed center topped by pinecone finial, with gold wash interior. Underside with impressed marks "ADM / TANE" over an eagle mark with indistinguishable number between "0.925" and "STERLING" over "MEXICO". Approximate height 4.5", width across handles 7.5". Approximate weight 24.1 troy ounces.
Condition
Scattered surface scratches ranging in depth throughout; more pronounced to underside of dish. Some losses to gold wash to finial and interior. Lid with oxidation to ribbed rim, Lid interior with more pronounced discolorations due to oxidation. Dish with scattered discolorations due to oxidation throughout interior and exterior. Handles with wear to gold wash. Underside with some scattered discolorations.
