Description
Lladro (Spanish, founded 1953). "Listen to D. Quixote", glazed porcelain, limited edition 194/750, signed and numbered to underside by sculptor Salvador Furio and painter V. Navarro, published 1987-1995. A large and impressively modeled figural sculpture depicting the wayward knight Don Quixote gesturing boldly while reading aloud from a book entitled "Tirant lo Blanch" (Joanot Martorell, published 1490). Underside of sculpture with maker's mark in blue under impressed "1520" model number. Accompanied with original box. Approximate height 20.5", width 20", depth 11.5". Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S. Jun, M.D., Eastman, Georgia.
Condition
No chips, cracks or repairs noted. Very minor crazing. Minor grime in crevices.
