AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART NAUTICAL PAINTING, depicting a three-masted vessel flying an American flag, reverse-painting on glass, titled at lower edge "Ship Siam of Salem / Built 1847 / Capt. Ebenezer Graves". Housed in a 19th century molded-wood frame with gilt liner. 19th century. 15 3/4" x 20 5/8" sight, 19 1/4" x 24 1/4" OA.
Scene likely repainted entirely with some new flaking. Frame with minor wear. Glass cracked. Not examined out of frame.
