SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA OR NORTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA CHIPPENDALE WALNUT CORNER CUPBOARD, one-piece construction, canted returns, the upper section with molded cornice over two hinged eight-light doors above molded waist, the lower section with two hinged fielded-panel doors over cut-out bracket-foot base with full height. Yellow pine secondary wood. Retains possibly original brass H hinges and a fine old surface with rich color. Fourth quarter 18th century. 89 1/2" H, 31" corner.
Good overall condition with minor area of restoration to upper mullion and sash bar on proper left door. Small loss to cornice at proper right corner with small repair. Small section of waist molding (lower element) at proper right side possibly replaced. Small patch to upper inside edge of proper left lower door. Minor usage wear throughout.
