STAMPED "J. EBERLY & CO / STRASBURG, VA" SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA EARTHENWARE / REDWARE BEAN POT, lead- and manganese-glaze over a slip wash, "1 1/2" gallon capacity mark, semi-ovoid form with galleried rim (no spout), and strap handle. The pottery of Jacob Eberly (1830-1908) and Daniel Letcher Eberly (1859-1919), Strasburg, VA. 1892-1903. 9" H, 5 1/2" D rim.
Free of cracks and chips, some areas of glaze loss/wear to handle and rim.
