A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc aged in 45% new oak, this terrific l'Evangile is stuffed with concentrated blackberry and raspberry fruit. There is also an acacia-like floral character that gives the wine even more complexity. Notes of toffee, licorice, and truffles add to the aromatic fireworks. The wine is full-bodied, with superb purity as well as moderate tannin in the finish.

Complex aromas of blackberry, fresh mushrooms, tobacco and wet earth. Full-bodied, soft and luxurious texture to this ripe and opulent wine. Long and decadent too. Just coming around now. Give it more time. L'Evangile at its finest.

Dichtes Weinrot, nur wenig Reifetöne. Geniale Cabernetfrancwürze, viel Lakritze und getrocknete Haut von schwarzen Pflaumen, erste Spuren von schwarzem Trüffel, eine geniale Tiefe aufweisend. Im Gaumen eine stoffige Textur wie Kaschmirwolle zeigend, alles bleibt im schwarzbeerigen Bereich. Der Wein ist wie ein grosser Pomerol-Nektar und alles ist reif und hat sich gefunden. Also ist hier die erste, grosse, fraglose Genussreife da.

Deep ruby. Pure, perfumed aromas of cassis, black raspberry, violet and iron; complex and sweet. Big and sweet but quite graceful in the mouth, with firm acidity giving the flavors delineation and grip. Not at all a blockbuster in terms of sheer texture but very intensely flavored and juicy, and structured to age. Very long and fresh on the aftertaste, with fine tannins spreading out on the palate.
