Margarete Heymann-Loebenstein (August 10, 1899 – 11 November 1990) was a German ceramic artist of Jewish origin and a Bauhaus student. Because she was Jewish she was forced to sell her successful business in Germany. She moved to Britain in 1936 and continued her work at her knew workshop. These three pieces were made by Hael-Werkstaetten, Marwitz. Earthenware, glazed blue, mint green, yellow and black on white. Marked: Lf, 428 and the workshop signet, LF, 1906 and the workshop signet and Dec. 1938b and the workshop signet. Item 428 is a bowl with lid measuring 3" h x 6 3/4" w, with a chip on the rim and base and four chips on the lid. Item 1906 is a bowl with three feet and measures 3 1/4"h x 7 1/4"w and is in good condition, item marked Dec. 193b measures 2 1/4"h x 8 5/8" and has a minor chip on the rim.
