Description
James King (American, 20th century), "Cubist Man in Profile"-1985, cast gilt metal with polished slate plinth base, inscribed to side of base "James King 85 (C)", inscribed to top of base "8/800". Cubist style figural sculpture depicting a man in profile whose form is depicted in geometric planes, with single pieced eye. Overall approximately 14.5" x 4" x 4". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Dr. & Mrs. Calvin Wayne McLarin, Atlanta, Georgia. Note: James King's work is well known for his 1979 sculpture "Lady Fortitude" located on the grounds of Howard University in Washington, D.C.
