Description
Jaeger-LeCoultre (Swiss, 1833- ), produced circa 1950. An Atmos clock with five glasses mounted in gilt brass frame, the clock dial in white enamel with gilt baton hour markers and tapered minute and hour hands, with internal pendulum lock accessible through hinged front glass. Serial number to top of movement "95456" indicating production in late 1940's/ early 1950's. Underside of case cast with "LeCoultre & Cie / Metal / Caliber 526-5 / Swiss", also with additional pen inscription "AT09644-11-84 / 357512-1-688-534". Marked on front of movement "Fifteen (15) / Jewels VXN", "Switzerland / Unadjusted", , LeCoultre & Cie / Atmos". Provenance: From the Estate of Channing S. Jun, M.D., Eastman, Georgia.
