Description
Unusual document being a 1786 confirmation of the appointment of Daniel Ludlow and Edward Gould of New York as attorneys and executors for Mary Bradstreet recently deceased at Boston and formerly of Middlesex in Great Britain for her affairs in America. The document is signed by Sir Charles Gould, a Knight, on stamped English paper with red wax seal. On the verso is a signed endorsement by James Duane (1733-1797) during his tenure as Mayor of the city of New York. Fine condition with two small taped repairs at margin. Measures 7.25 x 11.5".
