Wang Qingsong (b. 1966)
Wang Qingsong was born in Daqing in Heilongjiang Province in 1966. He worked for eight years at an oil drilling platform before studying oil painting at the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts from 1991 to 1993. The artist lives and works in Beijing since 1993. Influenced by Chinese traditional scroll paintings, as well as documentary and staged photography, Wang turned towards photography in 1996. Internationally renowned for mural-size paintings, Wang’s works have already been part of numerous national and international group and solo exhibitions. Today, Wang Qingsong belongs to the most prolific contemporary Chinese artists.
