Description
A late Georgian gold and topaz cross pendant, circa 1820. The square and fancy-shape golden topaz cross, with bead highlights and plain suspension loop. Length 4.9cms. Weight 5.5gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Some settings may need to be secured. Significant glue residue visible surrounding the central topaz where it appears to have been secured. Central topaz is a possible replacement. Topaz light golden yellow, with a weak to moderate saturation of colour. Good to fair clarity, some inclusions visible with the unaided eye.
