Description
Italy, Apulia/Daunian, ca. 300 BCE. This is a nice high-footed plate with circular black and red designs around a geometric central design known as a listati. The piece is immediately recognizable as Daunian for its coloration and simple but elegant shape. Items like these were exported out of Apulia and were popular throughout the ancient eastern Mediterranean. Size: 5.85" W x 2.3" H (14.9 cm x 5.8 cm)
