Gorgeous set of five exceptional quality Japanese lacquer soup or rice bowls (suimono-wan), 20th century. Eye-catching, Black with Red and stylized gold cherry blossom motif. Each 4.60x4.60x2.50. Traditionally, odd numbers are considered good luck in Japan, so sets like these are sold to the Japanese consumers in odd numbered sets.
