Description
Europe, Denmark, ca. 3000 to 2500 BCE. This is a Danish Neolithic knapped flint dagger with a biface blade of a predominantly caramel-hued chert with dark grey and cream hued highlights. This piece was probably for ceremonial use, considered of great value and kept apart for display. Celts such as this were often used as grave goods for important nobles, or given as influential gifts and may have had a role in pagan religious rites. Size: 5.8" L x 2.65" W (14.7 cm x 6.7 cm)
