Light cream medium weight wove paper. Wide margins. Fine impression. Fine condition. The image of our example is based on an early painting of Yeargans's that is included in the collection of Larry and Brenda Thompson. The Folk Singer, 1963, is illustrated on the front cover of the catalogue for the 2009 exhibition of their collection at the David C. Driskell Center of Art at the University of Maryland, which is now at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Jacksonville, Florida. Yeargans created yet another print based on the same painting in the same year, a woodcut entitled “Folk Singer,” which was published by Associated American Artists, New York City.
