Baltimore, Jan. 26, 1886, discussing his preferred disinfectant solution, in part: "...I would say that in Standard Env. No. 2 the potassium... is added because it is an excellent deodorant - Whereas mercuric chloride has not the power to neutralize a fecal odor..." Fine.
