Description
Deeply carved Rookwood Arts & Crafts vase from 1906 thought to be the work of Kiiche Yamada. The deeply carved and painted blue bell flowers nicely contrast the green over rose mat glaze ground on the upper portion of the vase. Marks include the Rookwood logo, date, shape 939 D and the incised KY monogram of the artist. Mentioned in Cummins, Rookwood Pottery Potpourri on page 84, Yamada also worked at Grueby in Boston. Excellent original condition. Height is 6 7/8 inches. Great piece.
