Arts & Crafts Oriental-style hanging candle lantern with cover. The craquelle glass repeats an enamel decoration of two Asian men in robes, clasping long daggers, peering from each side of a lighted doorway, above Japanese letters are tucked in between a colorful band of stained window motifs. The pointed cover is painted with three ivory color winged dragons over olive green and has an open vent at the point. Combined height is 17 inches. The flanged rim is 8 7/8 inches across and has three drilled holes for hanging with minor roughness. No light fixture nor hanging chain. There is a barely noticeable 3 inch stress line in the curve of the cover. The lantern was purchased in Austria in the early 1900's. Natural window light accentuates the colorful design. Handsome and in otherwise very good condition.
